Asim Pandey was born in 1963 in Medinipur District, West Bengal.
At the age of 8, he went to Calcutta and was admitted to Kishore Bharati High School, Behala.
When he was in class XI he joined art school at the Art Academy in Jhargram under renowned Artist Sri Sanjib Mitra.
He studied at the Indian College of Arts & Draftsmanship (Rabindra Bharati University), Kolkata.
In 1987 he joined India Government Mint (Tankshal) in Art & Design section, Kolkata.
He designs various Circulated Coins, Commemorative Coins, and prestigious Medals of our country.
He has completed courses in Graphic designing, Multimedia, and Programming at the Brainware Computer Academy, Jadavpur University & CMC, Kolkata respectively.
He even has done training in advanced Relief design, computer-aided designing & programming from professionals of Germany in India Government Mint, Kolkata & Germany respectively.
He has held many exhibitions of paintings in Kolkata.
Asim Pandey lives and works in Kolkata.

Asim Pandey has received many Awards and Honours from various Govt. and non-govt. organizations.
Recently he has received the Excellence Award from Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Ltd, Ministry of Finance, Government of India.

Asim Pandey is involved with many social organizations and NGOs in Kolkata,
like Bisaree (Governing body member & Treasurer), Samvabona (Advisor).
He is working there for underprivileged children for their education and other social activities.
